08/11/2017 · I started the upgrade to High Sierra yesterday and am still plugging away at this. I successfully have High Sierra running on the hardware but my external drives are read-only. They are not NTFS formatted, they are HFS+ (Mac OS Extended, Journaled). One drive is my TimeMachine backup (attached 1TB 2.5" USB 3.0 drive) and one is my 8-Bay Drobo (connected over firewire 800).
